Retainers · Morristown, NJ
Keep the correction.
Retainers are the final step in orthodontic treatment and a permanent one. We offer every retainer type and replacement retainers for anyone, treated here or elsewhere.

Teeth can shift after treatment, even years later.
Straight teeth look even better when they are bright. You have invested in your smile, professional whitening is the finishing touch that takes it from great to exceptional.
Three types of retainers.
1
Clear Essix Retainer
Thin, clear plastic that fits over your teeth like Invisalign. Nearly invisible. Comfortable. Easy to clean. The most popular option.
2
Hawley Retainer
Classic wire and acrylic retainer. More durable than clear options, typically lasts 5+ years. Adjustable. Can be customized with colors (popular with kids).
3
Fixed (Permanent) Bonded Retainer
A thin wire bonded to the back of your front teeth. Invisible from outside. You cannot lose it or forget to wear it. Often combined with a removable retainer for back teeth.

Retainers keep your results. We make them for anyone, treated here or elsewhere.
How to care for your retainer.

Clear retainers
Brush gently with mild soap and cool water. Never use toothpaste (scratches the material) or hot water (warps plastic). Weekly soak in retainer cleaning solution.

Hawley retainers
Same cleaning as clear. Store in the case, never in a napkin (how they get thrown away). Keep away from pets.

Fixed retainers
Floss daily using floss threaders or a water flosser. Check regularly for loose sections. Call us immediately if wire breaks or comes loose.

Storage
Always keep removable retainers in the case when not wearing. Never expose to heat (car dashboard, hot water).
