Invisalign for Kids · Ages 7–11 · Morristown, NJ

Guide their growth early.

Invisalign First uses clear aligners to address developing orthodontic issues in children, often before problems become more complex.

Worried about putting your child in metal braces so young?

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends a first evaluation by age 7. If your child shows crowding, a crossbite, mouth breathing, or early/late loss of baby teeth, earlier is appropriate. Not every child needs early treatment, the doctor assesses each case individually.

What Invisalign First is

Designed for children ages 7–11 with mixed dentition (baby teeth + permanent teeth still growing in). Built-in room for permanent teeth to erupt. Shorter typical timeline of 12–18 months. Focuses on jaw expansion and early alignment.

How treatment works.

Most kids complete Invisalign First in 12–18 months.

1

Evaluation

Dr. Gonchar examines your child's teeth, jaw, and bite. A 3D scan shows how permanent teeth are developing.

2

Custom aligners

Clear aligners custom-made for your child's teeth. Each aligner moves teeth gradually.

3

Wear most of the day

Remove for eating, brushing, and sports. The more consistently worn, the better the results.

4

Check-ins every 6–12 weeks

Monitor progress, give new aligner sets. Many check-ins done in-office; some virtual.

Will my child actually wear them?

This is the most common parent concern and it is valid. Here is the honest answer: some kids do great with Invisalign First. Some do not. It depends on maturity and motivation. We will give you an honest assessment at your evaluation.

How Invisalign First helps

Blue compliance indicators on the aligners fade when worn properly. You and the doctor can both see if aligners are being worn enough. If compliance becomes an issue, we can switch to braces at no additional switching cost.
